Stupid Pertussis Commercial!

I just saw the commercial and now I'm wondering if Mason has the early onset of Pertussis! Kind of freaking out about it. He got sick over Christmas and now has a wet, raspy, lingering cough. No fever or anything and otherwise seems normal. His check up is on Friday and I want to call the office, but I'm so afraid to be one of  those moms.....

What would you ladies do....??

Isn't there a # you can call to hear a recording of the pertussis cough?  I might try that first, if it matches or I think it is close, call the pedi.

If he seems fine and you've already got an appointment, I would just wait.

I would would see if I could get the appt moved up but if he does not seem to be getting worse then you can ask about it on Friday.

I feel a little better. Whenever I start to panic I call my sister who has two LO's of her own and is a nurse. She told me to wait until Fri unless he starts sounding worse. It wasn't even a thought until I saw the commercial. She basically called me a dumba$$ because he would have had to have been around someone with it to catch it. Ahhh....sisterly love!

Gah, my bff was tested for pertussis last night. She should know by Thursday if she has it...LO and I were with her all day Saturday. I am really praying she doesnt have it.
