Group for New & Expecting Parents (NOVA)

Hi ladies! I have mostly lurked since I moved to the area a few months ago. I am expecting my first baby at the end of April (yay!)

Since I moved, I have found some great support for expecting moms, but haven't been able to find anything that includes my DH too. That being said, I am looking into starting a group for new & expecting moms AND dads.Just a place where couples can get to know each other, have fun and give support.

Being new in town, we would love to connect to other new parents/soon to be parents and I figured there were others out there that felt that way too.

You may want to look at meetup.com and start a group there. It's becoming very popular and it's easy to reach out to people. You basically start a group and an email is sent out to anyone who indicated the same interests as your group letting them know. People can join and then events are planned etc... Groups can remain private so only members can see other member profiles and events. It is a little more work for the creator but worth while in the end! 

I created one for first time SAHM in the Burke/Springfield area for 2012 since there was the same group for 2011.
