TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

Trying another medicated IUI

But, feeling like it is a real long shot.  The one in December didn't work.  DH's numbers were just awful and I only had 1 mature follie - even with injects.

I think I am going to call CCRM and SIRM to get 2nd opinions.  If do another IVF it will be a 1 shot deal since my insurance is gone and we would be OOP.  I just want the best chance possible and I don't think that my RE can give me that.  She just doesn't seem open to more testing or a very aggressive protocol.

I am also considering getting a consult from a Reproductive Immunologist - possibly Dr. Braverman - since I've had so many losses.  I know it could be egg quality and I have had the RPL panel done and other testing by my hemotologist after they found the factor V leiden, but I just want to be sure there isn't something else that could help me.  Any thoughts on this?

Anyway, I am of course hoping that we won't need that, but time is running out for us - we aren't getting any younger and DH's numbers aren't getting any better.  I just don't know if this will ever work out, but I am not willing to completely give up yet either.

::sigh::  Why the heck does this have to be so hard for all of us?

Re: Trying another medicated IUI

  • Good luck with your IUI. I've heard good things about Dr. Braverman, I had a friend who had success after going to him. Even though I don't talk to her anymore for some reason lately I've been thinking of going to see him, I keep seeing ads for him when I'm online like it's a sign.

  • I am not familiar with the clinics or doctor you mentioned, but follow your gut feeling.  IVF is not cheap and I would be looking around for someone willing to approach with a more aggressive protocol, especially after all you have been through.  GL to you, and I hope you find some answers and doctors you like, trust and that help get you one step closer to your take home baby!

I totally agree with your question. It's so frustrating. I try to cling to the idea that it will be that much sweeter when we finally get our take home babies. But, IF sucks.

Sounds like you have a good plan. Hopefully this IUI will work and you'll get your take home baby. (((((HUGS)))))

If def. sucks. I try to stay hopeful and relax but that if breaks my heart.
