Vent, Inept Lab Techs

I've already vented on here about one of my docs who seems nonchalant about the nightly ritual of vomiting blood and about whether or not he wants me to continue taking a strong ulcer medication that isn't even working. But now the lab they use seems to keep misplacing my blood samples.

They called me back in on Friday to give them more blood because apparently they didn't take enough blood at my apointment last wednesday. It's annoying because we had to make a trip out specifically to give blood, but we do it because I want some answers to my vomiting blood problem. Well today they call me back and say that the lab has lost my blood specimen. They only have one lab tech in today, plus the office is busy because it's Monday, and they are seeing people who had problems over the weekend. So instead of letting us go straight back to the lab, they made us wait half an hour so they could redraw a vial of blood they lost. It's made doubly annoying by the fact that I absolutely hate needles.

If I wasn't so far along, I'd be seriously considering switching practices. My only comfort is that I'm seeing a different doctor this week who may actually have some answers for me (or at least some advice). I want this baby out so I don't have to put up with the throwing up blood or these doctors anymore! [/vent]
