We were researching this as well and I liked the KidKraft one because it has storage underneath for the train pieces (or other toys). But it's a little pricey.
We (ahem, Santa) just got DS and DD the PBK Activity Table. We went with the espresso with the navy canvas roller bins underneath. LOVE it. It's fantastic quality and the bins are huge. DS got tons of train sets for Christmas and they don't even come close to filling the bins. We really wanted a table that would blend in with our basement furnishings and not stand out as super-kiddy, and this one definitely fit the bill. Super sturdy, has accommodated a 2 toddler dance party.

We went with this one- https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11766021, because it was on sale for $79.99 and the deal was too good to pass up. I'm really happy with it, but we've only had it for a month, so I don't know how long it really lasts. I LOVE having storage underneath, so I would consider that part a must have. I thought it was a little short, but my 3 and 4 year old stand around it and it seems perfect for that age.
My cousin has the one from PBK and her kids have played with it for 5+ years and still use it constantly. It's in great shape.
I bought DS the Melissa and Doug Train/Activity Table on Amazon for $65 during Christmas. Now if only he liked it as much as we did and would use it to drive his cars on instead of the tv stand.
