Pregnant after a Loss

Pain in the butt...literally?

I feel like I feel on my butt or something? it's just my left side and the bone just below my left butt cheek feels like its bruised. I checked in the mirror and see no bruising, but it hurts and is so sore!I know I haven't hit, and I haven't fallen or anything..it started yesterday but this morning it hurts to walk. I don't know what to think....anyone experiencing anything like this? My DH thinks I've lost my mind...I was almost in tears this morning :( It feels kind of like I went horse back riding...but just on ONE side?!?

Does it feel like it is deep inside or on the surface? If deep inside I am having this same thing and have been seeing a physical therapist for it. There is a muscle in there that runs diagonally from your hip and can become strained due to compensation of your hip/thigh/ab muscles...that may be weaker. Because of the extra belly weight...it could be this. However if it feels more on the surface I don't have a clue! Best of luck to you....maybe a warm bath?

  • Sciatic nerve pain?

    ETA:

    What are sciatica symptoms?

Sciatica causes pain, a burning sensation, numbness, or tingling radiating from the lower back and upper buttock down the back of the thigh to the back of the leg. The result is lumbar pain, buttock pain, hip pain, and leg pain. Sometimes the pain radiates around the hip or buttock to feel like hip pain. While sciatica is often associated with lower back pain (lumbago), it can be present without low back pain. Severe sciatica can make walkingdifficult if not impossible. Sometimes the symptoms of sciatica are aggravated by walking or bending at the waist and relieved by lying down. The pain relief by changing positions can be partial or complete.

No I don't think that's what this is...I have had some sciatic pain on and off and I go to my chiropractor once a week for it. This is more like the bone? :(

I suppose if it feels more like the bone, could it just be the way your weight is distributed right now?  Putting pressure on a new area of the body or spine?

  • I had this.  Have DH/SO rub your butt with a tennis ball, it works wonders.  I had it only on the left side as well.  I am not sure if something was pushing against a nerve or whatever, but it is better now.
