Pumping and dumping?

I have a dentist appointment today so I am taking valium. I hate the dentist. From what I looked at online,  you should not take valium if you BF. So how long after taking the valium do I need to pump and dump?Will doing it once be enough? I will call the nurses line,  but you girls are a wealth of knowledge also:)

definitely ask your pedi's nurse or a pharmacist, but I think any time I've pumped and dumped from meds I did it for at least 12-24 hours.

My pedi had me pump and dump for 24 hours.  Check with yours though to see what he/she says.  I don't know if it's the same for everyone. You'll do great at the dentist!!!

I got in touch with the ped nurse and my ob nurse and both said pump and dump for 24 hours. Bummer:( Doesn't seem worth it to take the valium now. This is gonna suuuuuuuck! Any dentist survival tips?

Are you having just a regular cleaning?  If so, can you do some deep breathing?  Talk to your dentist before they get started and let them know you're super anxious.  I'm sure they'll take extra care to be gentle and they may be able to explain everything to you step by step as they go.

If you're going for some other work I'd take the Valium.
