Cloth Diapering

Are Snappis necessary?

I was just wondering if ordering Snappis was really necessary. I'd like to use as little tools as possible, in order to make it easier on DH. He does NOT do well with lots of instructions. I thought that maybe leaking would be less of an issue if I use the Snappis as opposed to putting the prefold in the cover; however, most sites show the prefold just being layed in the cover.

Re: Are Snappis necessary?

  • My DS is long and thin. I can't just lay the prefold in the cover and have it not leak, at least not yet. Snappis are necessary for us at this point. It realty is easy once you do it a couple of times.

  • nope. I have two and have used them maybe once or twice in the beginning. When we used prefolds and covers we just tri folded. I had this big idea in the beginning that I was going to do the fold that you use them. Nope. Tri folding was much easier for us. Then we went to all pockets and never needed them at all anyways.

  • For us they are. We use the angel wing fold and DS is too wiggly most of the time to not have snappis. The diaper would never stay in place.

  • I think they are. Buy them just in case. 3 is plenty and they only cost a few bucks.

  • Totally worth it!

We would have gone through a gazillion covers during the runny, never ending constant poo NB stage.  Snappis were super important for ensuring we got a great fit.  We still use them now with our snapless fitteds.

They are easy to use.  My DH never even gave it a second thought.
