Non-Clicky Poll: Tipping

MH and I are at a disagreement.  How much do you tip your pizza delivery guy?  What do you base it on?  Thanks ladies!

Re: Non-Clicky Poll: Tipping

  • I tip just like in a restaurant. If all is correct and on time, I tip 20%. If it took forever, or the order is wrong, then 15%. I rarely tip less than 15%.

This. Pizza places around here charge extra for delivery and im pretty sure it goes directly to the driver. I could be wrong though.

  • $2.00 everytime...they usually charge us a delivery charge anyway, so that's just a little extra for the guy...

  • How ever many dollar bills I have in my wallet lol. Usually $3-5.
  • Depends on how much I order.  But usually if I just order the minimum for delivery (I mean Dominos is a 5 minute walk from us.)  Then a couple buck.  Now if I order a lot for like a football party and there are several people here we might go up to $10 because its got to be a pain to carry all that pizza, wings, breadsticks etc...to the door!

  • Usually 5-7 dollars depending on what we get.  DH used to deliver pizza wayyy back in the day and he said that it always made his day if he got tipped 5 or more. lol.
  • Usually $1-$2, they add on so many charges that I don't feel the need tip that much.

  • We tip $5 every time.  I would probably tip more if they didn't have a delivery charge.

  • All the places near us charge a delivery fee.  On top of that I'll tip $3 unless the weather is terrible.

  • Depends. If there isn't a delivery charge we'll tip $4-5. If they are charging a fee then only a couple of bucks. If it's bad weather..snow or really freezing cold a little more.

  • I tip 20%, so long as our order is accurate and it's delivered within a reasonable time frame.

  • 2-3. used to be more before the delivery charge.
  • We compromised on $4 tonight.  He said $3, I said $5+ and there was a delivery fee (Papa John's).  I thought $3 was low, but if they get the delivery fee too then I don't feel so bad.  The place is only a couple miles away.  Thanks for the input!

  • $4-$5. DH used to work for Dominos and he feels like that's a fair tip, so that's what we do. We tipped more when we lived on a 3rd floor apartment. We don't really consider it a tip, we consider it paying for not having to get off our lazy butts and go pick up pizza :)

This.  In our area they charge an extra $3-5 for delivery and it goes straight to the driver.

  • Once upon a time...long ago in my student days I was a pizza delivery girl!    I think that 20% is fair.  It depends on if they take their own car or not too...cause sometimes they pay their own gas or only get a small amount of extra pay towards it.  I had an accident due to the shi..tty breaks and lack of snowtires on the company car so after that I always just took my own...at my own expense.
