Best shoes for early walker?

What kind of shoes are good for a one year old?  I want ones that will stay on her feet and have some sort of grip (so not pedipeds since the leather is slippery).

Right now she wears Robeez boots but her feet smell SO bad in them and I'd like a shoe instead of a boot.

  • I loved See Kai Run. Pedipeds were too wide.

  • We wear robeez aroudn here.  the 6-12 mon size.  All my girls wore them and although my second two are porkers, Noel wore the same size at 1.  She was only 16 lbs at a year (doesn't take after me obviously).  What size Robeez do you have?

Saw the video of Ruby walking....WHEN DID SHE GET OLD ENOUGH TO WALK!!!!!!!!

I think her boots are 6-12 months.  She has a pair of 12-18mo shoes, but they're weird colors (they were a gift) and they're too big.

And I canNOT believe she'll be one in two weeks.  I could throw up.  This year has gone so fast.

We haev a pair that is 12-18 mons and they are huge.  My kids never wore them because by then they were wearing hard soled shoes because we were outside a lot.

Time for #4....Your babies are too cute not to have more!!!

My boys never wore the bigger ones either.

My H says he won't give me a fourth.  Punk.  :)  I wouldn't want one for awhile anyway.  Maybe when the older two are in school, but I think we might be done.

  • We always did Stride Rite for their first walker shoes. Loved Robeez for that stage too.

  • I did See Kai Run for their first walking shoes. LOVE SKRs! They are super flexible and way cuter than Stride Rite (for boys, at least. Never looked at the girls.).
