Has anyone taken one before? I've heard that you should sign up early because they fill up...but from looking at their site you can still pretty much register for any of them all the way through the summer.
Just wondering what your experience was like, if you felt it was worth it, etc. I think we're going to take one no matter what but I'd still like to know what to expect going in to it! (We won't be taking them until May...)
Thanks!
Re: Troy Beaumont birthing classes?
could you share your opinion on the birthing classes? one of my midwives told me they are pretty basic, and if you have an idea of what kinds of things may happen maybe we wouldn't want to waste our time and just do a little reading up, etc. what do you all think?
I delivered at RO Beaumont but someone told me that the Beaumont classes were too drawn out - they could accomplish in a few hours what they take a few sessions to cover.
We ended up taking a shorter version of the class through my doctor and while it wasn't rocket science, I felt it was beneficial to hear the information all at once and from an RN. And it was nice to be able to ask a couple of questions.
We did take the childcare class through Beaumont though and I'd highly recommend that - it was great for both me and DH.
I think it all depends on who teaches the class. I had the exact opposite experience. I wanted to try to go natural and was mocked and made a running joke of the whole first class. We didn't return for any of the others.
Thank you!
