Are you on the same kind as before your LO? If not, why?
I was on the pill (ortho tri cyclen lo) for 10+ yrs before TTC and never had an issue. I'm hoping to just go back on the same thing. A friend had mentioned that often times your hormones/body change and a different kind of BC may work better (she had to try 3 after her DD was born to find one that worked well for her.) So i'm wondering how common that is.
Re: If you're on birth control...
Pill, patch, then pill before LO.
Mirena IUD after LO. I wanted something I didn't have to think about, plus, we had already met our deductible for last year, so it only cost me $25 to have the Mirena inserted and it will last for 5 years.
ortho tri cyclen was fine for me before....but after DS#2, it made me pukey. If I didn't take it exactly at the same time every day with food, I would throw-up. I mean, I know you're supposed to take it at the same time every day, but it shouldn't be THAT big of a deal if I'm off by two hours, KWIM?
Then I tried the nuva ring, which I initially liked, but eventually I totally lost interest in sex....
Now, we're back to the good 'ol condom and/or pull&pray :-P Been working so far, haha

The Nest/Bump sucks and won't let me change my location. I'm in Arkansas, not Florida.
I went back on Seasonique after BF DD#1, then went right back off after one pack (3months) to TTC #2, now I just finished BF again and started it again. No issues so far but I havent been on it much in the past 4 years!
Pill before DD and Depo shot post.
I got pregnant while on the pill. Yes, I took it correctly and religiously. DH and I are just the 0.01% I guess.
I have endometrosis and it is treated with my BC pill so it is very important that I am on a good one for my body. I take a pill named Ovcon and I never take the sugar pills, instead I start a new pack so I don't get my period.
I tried Seasonique but I had tons of breakthrough bleeding (and because of the endometrosis I had lots of cramping too) my doctor said that the formula for Seasonique is actually not a good one to prevent breakthrough bleeding and in her opinion should not have been used for a continuous BC (my previous doctor before I moved had put me on it). So she put me on Ovcon because it has the same amount of hormones everyday, not like some where you get more hormones the first week and less the next and so on (this also helps prevent nausea which I had in the past with other BC). I do need to take it at the same time everyday or I get a little spotting but if I am diligent about taking it at the same time then it is not an issue.
I was on the same regimen before I had LO. I took Ovcon for three years straight without getting my period. When we decided to start TTC I stopped taking it and exactly 28 days after the last pill I got my period. I got pregnant the next cycle and didn't have another period. So it didn't interfere with my fertility. I have been back on it for about 6 months now and have had no problems.
