Bottles compatible with Medela?

I've returned to work and I am doing a lot more pumping.  My baby is getting close to needing 8 oz bottles and I don't have any.  He has been using Medela bottles just fine, but I was looking for a cheaper alternative that attaches directly to the pump.  Any recommendations?

  • Pretty sure Dr Brown's do, but my LO doesn't like them.

  • The Dr. Browns are supposed to attach directly to the pump, but I haven't tried it. Your baby isn't eating 8oz though, right? That's an insane amount.

  • I use Medela and Evenflo glass bottles, but I'm pretty sure the threads are universal and that any bottle with the same size opening will work.

His late afternoon feeding he usually takes 7.  Right now my day care provider just gives him two bottles.  All the other feedings he takes about 5.  So I am guessing the change is coming soon!

  • Thanks!  I will have to look at Dr. Brown's and Evenflo and compare prices!

  • My sister had some cheap Gerber ones that also attach directly to the pump.

  • I use Playtex Drop In Liners...  I found a pack of bottles somewhere that has a little conversion kit (little blue rings that go on the rim) that attaches it right to the Medela PIS Advanced.  I love it!

  • Yes the threads should work with just about any "normal" sized bottle (not wide-bottles). I have been pumping into 8oz (glass) Dr Brown's since my milk came in. I also pump into my Medela bottles. My friend pumps into really cheap Evenflo ones.

  • I don't know if it's cheaper, but Tommee Tippee makes 9oz bottles and you can buy an attachment that makes it compatible with the Medela.
