Why does my LO have so much stuff?

What do they call this- a first world problem?

We got back from our 3 week trip to PA earlier this week.  I was finally unpacking all the clothes (I waaaaay overpacked for all of us, so it took forever), as well as putting away all of M's new toys and things she got for Christmas.  Good grief, this child has a lot of stuff.  Her room is still a mess b/c I couldn't get it all put away before her bed time.  And b/c we just moved before taking the trip, her room is still full of boxes to unpack- grrr.

On a side note- I guess Maya went through quite the growth spurt while we were away but I didn't notice. I had packed mostly larger sized clothes (b/c I wanted her to wear all her cute 6m+ sized stuff).  When we got home, I opened her pajama drawer and pulled out a sleeper that she wore the day before we left.  It didn't fit- not even close.  Looks like in addition to all this unpacking I also have to shift out the too small stuff again- well, I guess it will make room for all the new clothes people bought her!

  • It accumulates fast doesn't it? I learned my lesson with DD so DS has WAY less stuff. He has a lot of toys though because they were passed down from his sister. Smile

  • Its stupid how much stuff they gather, and we have a tiny house so we keep it to a minimum and are still amazed. Just tonight I had to go through her closet and take out all that doesn't fit then go downstairs and sort it into 'keep for next baby (possibly) or give away/sell.' Then I had to take out the next size up stuff and go through it to take out what will now fit and throw it in the wash. It took me hours. UGH, I feel your pain.

  • It's amazing how they accumulate so much stuff.  LOs closet is filled with all kinds of stuff besides clothes.  No wonder they have whole stores devoted just to baby stuff.
