Co-sleepers...with 2 kids?

Hi! I am halfway done with baking my DS and currently have a 19 month old DD. She has been in our bed from the time she was out of her bassinet. My DH is a police officer and works 12 hr night shifts and with me being the one feeding her I just thought it made much more sense to have her in bed with me so that I could get some sleep. My DH sometimes will make a comment about it on his nights off that our bed is too small for her now but does nothing to initiate her into the crib so we just continue this way. BUT now we have DS coming in just over 3 months...he will be breastfed so is it time to transition her to crib? To make sure she gets her sleep, and how do I do this? She doesn't even nap in her crib....it's pretty much wasted space at the moment :) Tell me I'm not the only one...my parents think were crazy as I was put in the crib from day one...

Re: Co-sleepers...with 2 kids?

  • If you want to cosleep with 2 kids, it can be done. I put my oldest between myself and my DH and the baby on the other side of me with a bedrail. If your DH is gone nights, you could just get a bedrail for the other side of your bed (or corner it next to a wall).

If you're not happy with cosleeping anymore, then change it. You can transition her to the crib if you're ready to do so. If you're not, you dont have to just because youre having another baby.
