S/O Playgroups...

Any thoughts on how I go about starting one?  Where we used to live had a Moms' Group (guess it's a "chain" type thing), but there's nothing here.  The only play group I can find is at the library (story time), and there haven't been any other kids DS's age.  I really want DS to have other kids his age to play with and to meet other moms around here!

    I just started a playgroup, so far it is still very small and the kids are about 6 months older than Chloe or 5 months younger...I'm hoping some closer to her age will join.  Anyways...I put the word out on facebook to anybody I knew in the area asking them to pass along the message to any friends they knew with kids that I was starting a playgroup, plus I put up signs at our library and the doctors office is going to let me put up a sign.

    I use a site called 'doodle' (it's a google site).  It allows people to go online and put in what days and times work for them so you can pick a meeting time that works best for everybody.

    Have you thought about meetup.com?  I haven't done it myself, but I think you can start your own group there.  Good luck.
