...or know someone who is? It's a long time since I graduated law school and took a bar ... buIt we moved to NY to be near family, and unfortunately no one around here seems to be in need of a non-practicing attorney with a specialty in financial regulations! So I bit the pickle and I'm taking the NY bar this February.
Anyway, aside from my concern that my elevated stress levels will result in a bipolar baby, I am pretty much on my own for studying because the bar prep classes are at 6pm and in Syracuse and I don't feel like driving into the snow belt and back (Syr is like an hour's drive for me) in the dark. But I work better with a study partner or study group - even an online-only study buddy would work better for me than flying solo. I'm a champion procrastinator.
So if any of you NY ladies are studying for this godforsaken test, or know someone who is, can you help me out??
Re: anyone studying for the bar exam...
Thanks! I took the FL bar 8 years ago but FL is one of those sucky states that has zero reciprocity with anyone.
I've tried applying for federal jobs, I''ve taken civil servant exams and scored really high but then no job was forthcoming. OMG I've tried applying for banking jobs, consulting jobs, legal assistant jobs, and any kind of regulatory compliance including crazy things like healthcare and aerospace - no luck! It's a terrible economy I guess. It's been a year and a half since I was laid off. I never in a million years imagined I could have been out of work for so long.
But thanks for the luck - I sure need it. And if I keep procrastinating on thebump I am REALLY gonna need it!
