Excuses.

My sister and her boyfriend think that hubby and I are ignoring them/mad at them. 

Here is why: we haven't told anyone yet, we are waiting to tell until after our first u/s next week Thurs., Jan. 12. 

They have invited us ice skating and bowling and I have come up with cockamamie excuses about my back or being sick blah blah blah.  New Years Eve we were supposed to ride together to a wedding reception but hubby insisted we drive separate since I haven't been feeling well.  One more strike. 

I know that once we tell them, they will be super excited and forget all about it, especially since we have been trying for so long, but right now it is really hard. 

End of sob story.  Thanks for listening!

I totally understand. With DD, we had DH's brother and his wife over for a visit before we were telling anyone. First, SIL asked when we were planning to have kids and then I could barely eat the venison roast they brought. It was really hard, but of course they didn't hold a grudge when they found out. The waiting will be over soon!

Here's from a family perspective. My bro and SIL didn't tell us with their first boy until they were 5 months along. They way they were acting and avoiding us and SIL was constantly sick, my mom decided they were getting a divorce and I had decided SIL had cancer. We were pretty mad they waited that long to tell us!

I understand. Same happened to us when DH family came and visited. We had to make up excuses for a lot of things since we are not telling anyone till we hear the heatbeat. It will work out!
