Well, I guess I was wrong about last time...can we talk about cervical length?

I had my second u/s for cervical length check today with maternal fetal medicine.  Last time (2 weeks ago) my length was 3.5cm (thought it was 4.2?), now it's at 2.9cm.  They said they won't worry until it gets to about 2.5cm...Should I be concerned????  This seems to be a significant size change over a 2 weeks time period...previous LO born 30wk 1 day, LEEP procedure performed in August of 2011...

Thoughts please!!!!

    I was told anything under 3cm is a cause for concern.  2.9 is not that far off from 3, so I'm sure that's why they aren't concerned.  Also, your cervix can get longer.  When will you be checked again?  Just make sure they monitor you often.

    As far as I know CL can increase and decrease at random.  Are you on bedrest?  Have you been offered a cerclage?

    I was monitored for cervical length until 32 weeks.  My MFM (Maternal Fetal Medicine) said that they only get concerned if it measures under 2- that would mean going on bedrest.  If I were you I would start taking it easy- stay off your feet, drinking plenty of water and ask to be monitored atleast every two weeks.
