TTC after 35

First Response Fertility Test and FMU

So I have had one of these tests laying around for a few months because it came free with a FRER. I kept forgetting to take it on cd3, but remembered this month. The only thing was, although I did it on cd3, I didn't use FMU. I know the test specifically says to use FMU, but how likely is that to alter the results? I'm guessing since fmu is more concentrated, you could get a false negative result by not using FMU, but if the results are elevated even without FMU, they would be elevated regardless? Mine appear to be elevated (test and control line are very smiliar in color), which wouldn't shock me as I'm 37, but I was just wondering before I go making any assumptions...

  • You can drive yourself crazy peeing on those things.  If you really want to know, have your doc draw CD3 bloodwork and tell you the real numbers.

get your blood drawn. I took the test as well, but honestly don't recall it needing FMU..anyway, my test came back that my FSH was not high, and if you see my siggy, it was.

If you have been TTC longer than 6mos, get a referral to an RE and they will run that labwork anyway. good luck.
