So, we're starting the de-binking (pacifiers) in coming weeks, and are debating what method/tactic to use. The kids are 17mo so the "give to the butterflies" won't really stick.
I say, let them know the binky is going away for about 3 days, then take it away, and suffer through some crying. It can't be more than three days or so right?
Thanks for your help.
Re: XP: Help with the de-binking process
we did cold turkey with both of our girls (who were also too young to understand giving it away or anything like that). First night their were tears, but by day 3ish it was a distant memory.
eta - the "cold turkey" came after weaning them down a bit. first only binky for car and sleeping, then just for sleeping, then only for nighttime (ie: took it away from daycare), then no bink at all

We will have to do this L is a PACI-holic - but S found her thumb which eliminated the Paci but YIKES for the ortho work that might ensue. I like the Paci because you can get rid of the paci but not the thumb....
