My husband and I have had a VERY busy and exciting year. In April we bought our first house and then in November we became man & wife. At first we thought we wanted to wait a few years before we started the journey of becoming parents. We have gone over this topic many times and have decided...why wait??? Now the "fun" begins. We have officially started the mission and are "fingers crossed" that it does not become mission impossible.
I have not been on BC since August of 2010 however, I kept a pretty good eye on my cycle. I don't have a norm 28 day...tends to be on average around 33 (has even been 38 days). This is the first month we are TTC (last month we weren't as cautious). I am in the 2 week wait and it is killing me. I am worried about so many things...especially since I don't have a norm cycle.
I am looking forward to the journey and am hoping it is painless. Super excited about being here and learning so much from you ladies
Re: newbie & TTC
Welcome. A 33-38 day cycle isn't that far out of the norm, and the average person doesn't even have that "normal" 28-day cycle. I would highly recommend a copy of Taking Charge of Your Fertility and/or signing up for fertilityfriend.com. Both very helpful so you can pinpoint ovulation and optimize your chances.
Also keep in mind that it can take an average healthy couple up to a year to conceive, and you have at most about a 20% chance of conception each cycle. So if it doesn't work out in the first few months, all is not lost.
The TTGP board apparently has some great FAQs, so I'd suggest checking that out.

Welcome Jkru....im a newbie and ttc also. My husband and I have been actively trying for 4 months now and no luck so far. December we surely thought it was going to be our month but after not seeing AF for 10 days past the due date we got a BFN from the doctor. Then a day later she showed up.
so we are starting all over .....Good luck honey...im throwing Babydust at ya
Hello. I'm the same as you...newly wed and new house. We've been living together for several years and are set financially, so didn't see any other reason to wait.
I'm not on a regular cycle either (sometimes up to 40 days or so). I'm the impatient type so waiting drives me nuts
Hopefully we'll have good news soon
