Feeling Old

I am feeling really old today... Over the Christmas holidays I found out my cousins 17 year old daughter is 6 months pregnant.  I am 40 and am going to have a kid in the same age range as a teenager.  Plus I have two much younger cousins (20 & 22) with babies older than Joshua.   GAHHH!!    I just know when DH and I go to kindergarten orientation with Joshua they are probably going to think we are the grandparents.

    My parents were in their late 30s when they had my baby sister. My mom said she always felt old around all my sister's friends parents but that it was fun to meet a different group of parents than the ones of my friends. Think of how much more experience you have than them :)

    It's funny cause my mom was 16 when she had me (well, just turning). And all of my friends' parents were like "How old is your mom?" They were shocked by how young she was. I was so embarrassed I would pretend I didn't know. I was jealous of people with older parents!! My grandmother also had my aunt later on in life so my aunt is only 3 years older than me!!

    It all works out in the end though - I turned out pretty ok ;)

    I also agree with PP about how much more knowledge you will have. There is a mom at the story time that has a son 5 days younger than JT and she must be in her late 30's early 40's (she has a 21 year old son too) and I LOVE to pick her brain about anything from BF to naps to everything in between.
