2 urine catheters (no urine on the first try)
2 blood draws (blew out the first vein after literally 5 minutes of moving around the needle in her arm)
1 baby girl screaming ouchie
1 grandma crying in the hall
1 mom practically on tears while holding down her baby during said procedures
1 negative urine test
Still waiting pm blood results. Her temp has hit 105 for three days in a row

Today sucks.
ETA: they said it's just a virus. All that for nothing
Re: Updated: Today's Count :(

And I must admit surprised about Grandma crying in the hall -- I thought grandmas were the ultra-strong ones!

Uhg... I hate when people dig for veins!!!
Well if it's a virus, she'll wake up tomorrow a new woman.
Why did they make you do all the holding??? Was no one else available? We try never to make parents hold their own kids unless there's no other option. Maybe "control" one arm but otherwise my goal is to leave the parent able to comfort their child instead of having to worry about flailing limbs. I take care of that. Actually makes my job easier anyway because most parents can't/won't/don't hold LO tight enough...
It may end up being roseola if she doesn't have any other symptoms but the high fever. If she busts out with a rash in the next couple of days, you'll know.
Good luck mama
