We a have a Moby, which my husband loves wearing, but I wanted something more structured, so I got the Butterfly 2 (and it didn't hurt that it had a cute robot print). The newborn insert is too high up for us - baby's head sticks up too far, so I was just planning to use it without. My problem is his legs. In the videos, the baby's legs stick out the sides. When I attempt that with our baby, it seems like his crotch isn't wide enough or his legs don't "bend that way" and he's immediately uncomfortable. Beco says you can frog them too, but I don't want to frog him forever; I want his legs to stretch out and develop. Should I just wait on using the Butterfly 2 until he's a little bigger and things loosen up more, or is there something I'm missing. Our little man is five weeks old.
Re: Beco Butterfly 2 - am I doing it wrong?
Here is the link to the babywearing group in CO. Maybe they are close to you:) ???

This.
Long time lurker jumping in on this one...
The insert in the BBII is adjustable. I would recommend searching YouTube, as here are a few tutorials that show how to properly adjust the insert. I'm still using the insert and froggy legging my almost four month old. She is just about 13 lbs and 24 in. I recently readjusted it so she sits lower in the carrier, but she is still not ready to be in the carrier without the insert.
I have been wearing C in our Beco since she was 3 weeks and only 7 lbs, so your baby definitely isn't too small or too big. I had troubles in the beginning too, until I found the video tutorials.
For some reason I can't paste the link from my phone, but search Beco Butterfly. II newborn and there is a video of a woman adjusting the BBII on her couch. I found that one very helpful. Good luck!
