I am livid!!!

Every time I would speak with HR I was always told the benefits for STD are 6 weeks at 60% pay. Well yesterday I get the benefits summary and it says, 60% or up to $1000/month WHAT????!!!! that is over $500 less then what I had been counting on. I"m so livid and stressed out now as to how we'll make it all work

 Also I'm feeling like crap today. My stomach is really upset. So either I got the stomach bug everyone around me has had, or... well maybe my body is emptying itself out and baby is closer than I think :O

Anyway, hope you all are having a better day! Thanks for letting me vent!

That doesn't make sense. I would call them and ask them about it. It sucks that you are now going to be getting a significant amount less then you thought.

That's really sh!tty! Did they change the policy with the new year? Even so, someone from HR should have warned you. Hope you can get this worked out!

Ya not sure if the policy has changed but nobody said anything about this. Everyone always said 60%. That is misleading if it's always been up to 1k. So I'm talking to HR as soon as she's back in the office.

Talk about being punched when you're down! That sucks! I've been trying to get paperwork from our HR advisor but she just went back to work after Christmas break yesterday and hasn't done any of it yet. I just want to make sure everything is in place and OK. I'm technically on maternity leave now (started yesterday) but don't have any idea of what to budget for since it depends on my record of employment going to our benefits people...that's the paperwork I'm waiting on. Your story has me more worried...I hope you get it straightened out soon. I hope we all get what we need and not screwed by benefits loopholes!

Ouch, that hurts.  Ours maxes out at like $987 per week, or something like that.

I just looked on our company intranet and the older files say $1000/WEEK not month. Which seems to be the pretty much standard. So I'm hoping this was just a typo. Please keep your fingers crossed for me!
