Northern California Babies

where on the Peninsula can you,

take your breast pump in for a check up? I haven't used it in 3+ years and should probably have it checked out to make sure it's still in working order.

I need to get new stuff for it too, but that can be purchased at babies r us right?

Re: where on the Peninsula can you,

  • I can test it for ya ;)

Do you have a Medela PIS? If so, you can get replacement parts easy at BRU.

  • Yeah it's a PIS, but like I want to have the membranes checked to see if they are dried out and make sure it's got proper suction. I think I stopped pumping w/ H b/c it didn't feel like it was suctioning correctly. Plus I'm lazy and SAH so why did I need to pump.

Well apparently husbands and grandparents like to feed the baby sometimes. Who knew. :p

  • Unless things have changed in the past 10 months you can't get replacement tubing at Target or BRU.  The only place on the peninsula I know of to get it is Day One or you can order directly from Medela.

  • I would call the LC's over at the Health & Wellness Center on Brewster in RWC and ask them for where to take it. There is also a little store there too that might carry extra tubing.

I also don't know who your pedi is, but ours (PAMF, formerly BAP) has an LC on staff and visits with her are covered by insurance. She also does phone consultations and might give you direction.

Otherwise, there's a very pro-nursing "store": Healthy Horizons in Burlingame

Actually, come to think of it, isn't there an LC site recently opened in San Carlos???

  • The Day One in WC checked the preasure in mine when it suddenly lost suction (it died). I bet the Day One on the pen could do it too but call first just to be sure.

I'm pretty sure we have the same pedi :)

Thanks gals, I'll call around and get it taken care of :)
