Please don't flame as this is mostly me venting/whining.

I made little dilation progress in the last week and my contractions have all but ceased.  I'm only 37 weeks and I know its best to go closer to 40 and intellectually that's all well and good, but I am SO tired of the carpal tunnel, sleepless nights, swollen ankles and now i have a cold on top of it all ,that I cried a little when the doc said I'd only dilated a half centinmeter more (10%) more effaced.  I'm not looking to have my membranes stripped tonight or something, but my calculations (as opposed to OBs) would have me at 38 weeks (she went off LMP I went off of multiple signs of ovulation-cervical mucus, basal temp etc) and she thinks the baby is over 7lbs now and I know LO will come when she is ready...but Momma's so ready!  I want to meet her and I am so uncomfortable and have been for some time.  Whatver the reason I was having a lot of 3rd tri discomforts (pelvic pain, hip pain, CT, etc) halfway through 2nd tri so I feel like its gone on forever..

OK thanks for letting me vent.  I'm done being a big baby for now.

I know how you feel. I am 37 weeks 3 days and went to the doctor today and I made no progress over the past week. I am not even a cm dilated even though I have been having contractions. Last night they were coming every 2 to 4 minutes until I layed down on my side and then they were coming every 10 minutes and that lasted for hours. I was really disappointed I have not made any progress. It is so discouraging. I hope all the best for you and that our little ones decide to come soon! I don't know how much longer I can deal with my hands and feet being swollen. It was 20 degrees when I left this morning and I was wearing flip flops because I can no longer fit my shoes!
