Anyone else get more cramps/pains...

when they lay down? I always hear to lay down to see if pains etc are gonna go away. Mine always seem to show up or intensify when I lay down. I haven't been sleeping much lately because ds is always waking me up with painful movements/cramps and feeling even lower at night than during the day. Is anyone else experiencing this?

  • LO is definately lower the later it gets.  As for her movements being more painful lying down no but I do notice more BH etc at night-but this may just be because I'm not as active

  • I'm definitely crampier when I lay down.

  • Same here!  I've been working from home, usually sitting at the dining table until 6....and I'll be fine for the entire day... it's not until I start to sit on the couch / lie down in bed  that I start to get crampy, and experience a lot of painful pressure in my pubic region :<
  • This has just recently been the case for me, too.  Sitting is more comfortable on my hips than laying down is.  Even with a million pillows around my stomach, back, hips, etc I can't seem to get comfortable laying in any position.  My OB said that DS dropped before my 37 week appt so I figure my hips are just crying out to get the baby going.  Unfortunately I don't expect it to get any better before baby is born, and it will probably only get worse :(

Ditto all of this. I feel her moving down throughout the day even though she is low to begin with. Then at night my BH are much more intense.

  • I'll add to the list of bumpies who can say yes!

Most frustrating thing ever. For everything else, your gut tells you to lay down and rest if you're in pain or uncomfortable.  Ugh! At the time I need some rest the most, it seems impossible.

I usually spend about 1-2 hours on my exercise ball gently bouncing or rocking after work. It helps relieve some tension in my hips and back. SO and I got vibrating massager thingies for x-mas for eachothers stockings, and when we lay down in bed he'll massage my back for a few min, which helps too.

  • I haven't had too much cramping, but my pelvis kills when I lay down, especially on my side (which is the only way I can lay down at this point).  I try laying with my thickest pillow between my thighs and knees to help keep my hips from closing in on each other.  I keep waking up suffocated on my back because my hips hurt so much that my body rolls me over at night to get off of them.  It's to the point where I don't enjoy sleeping/going to bed at night.  During the day sitting on my ball helps a bit.  I've also tried sitting on my ball and resting my upper body on my bed, so I can sort of rest or kneeling on the ground draped over my ball.  I keep telling DH that I need away to sleep on my ball.
