26 1/2 weeks pg, where is the time going? (rambling post)

Time is just flying by this pregnancy.  Had an ultrasound yesterday (I have one every 6 weeks due to my thyroid condition) and they said the baby is already 2 lbs 4 oz.  I know they always over-estimate, but it was still crazy to think that I have 3 months left and the baby is already 2 lbs.  Is time just flying for anyone else?  It seems like every other one of us is due this spring.  It will be so fun.  And I thought we had decided on the name, but yesterday I suddenly decided I wanted to pick a new one.  Has everyone else decided on names?

  • This is where I reveal that I get some folks on here mixed up - which # kid is this for you?  Embarrassed

There are so many people due in the Spring, this board is going to explode - it's going to be great!!

Can't wait to hear names - I love hearing peoples' baby names.

Wife, Musician, Fed, WW-er, and Mom of three little kids - not necessarily in that order.

  • I'm a week behind you and I feel the opposite. As my kids keep reminding me "this baby is taking forever". We still have no name. I thought we had agreed on a first name but now DH says he's not sure. Every time we talk about it, we both end up annoyed with each other so we may have yet another delivery room decision!

  • I hear you! This pregnancy is simultaneously taking forever and yet so much to do to get organized for the arrival of DS2.

We're doing what we did last time - developing a short list of names we like, not sharing them, and we'll decide when we meet the baby. So we can honestly say we don't know what his name is!

  • We must have super close due dates, I'm April 8...sometimes I feel like it is flying by, sometimes I feel like it's forever! I just had an u/s on 12/30 and she was 1lb. 12oz. DS was tiny even full term, so we'll see what she decides to do.

We do have a first name, but not a middle name. Our last name is crazy long and complicated, I wish we had somebody we wanted to name her after for the middle name. That's what we did with DS and it made the decsion easier. But, I do like having a first name to refer to her as - however that was how I accidentally told a bunch of people with DS, so I have to watch myself!

  • Artslvr, this is baby #3 (3rd girl).  I hear you, it is hard to keep track of who has how many, especially since a few more are having their 3rd now.  I think most of the spring babies are 2nd babies though.

Mommmyz, my due date is April 7, but c-section will be April 3.  My first was 6 lb 11 oz and 2nd was 7 lb 5 oz, so I assume I'm in for an almost 8 pounder this time.

Even though some days seem to drag, only having 3 months left somehow makes it feel like time is flying.  DD#1 likes to count backwards and she says that first there were 6 months (we didn't tell LOs until I was 3 mo pg), then 5, then 4 and now 3!  Luckily she isn't getting impatient, since 6 months is like an eternity for a child I bet.

  • Oh, I hear you. I feel stressed because we have done nothing tangible to prepare for this baby. We have no furniture and have not even begun to clean out the room that will be his. We started looking at paint colors and calling around to find someone to paint the room, and have had many, many discussions about names (with little to no results).

I think this weekend I'm going to pressure DH to go furniture shopping (all we really need is a crib and a dresser) so I can feel like I'm accomplishing something!
