Do I need the wheels on my crib?

DH put our crib together this weekend and it came with wheels. I don't plan on wheeling/moving the crib anywhere- so do I need to put them on? They're kind of ugly and I feel like they would make the crib less stable. Before I decide to leave them off I just wanted to make sure I wasn't making some horrible FTM mistake by leaving off a vital part of the crib.

It's the Jenny Lind crib shown here, although the wheels that came with the one I have are not white:

(sorry not clicky)

Thanks in advance!

i wish i could be joking but my dad is the music teacher at a church so he owuld be mad. we had sex, all the time how bad i know but we dont want to wait and he said GREAT OH KAY! and I was really feeling the wets? down there- too embarsed to say- but he acted like man.

  • I liked mine on because I could move the thing easily to retrieve errant pacis and such that fell behind it and I didn't wake the baby.

  • We are getting a JL crib, and I wasn't planning to use the wheels b/c they are ugly. Most cribs don't have wheels, so they can't be that important, right?
  • We're getting a Bonevita crib that comes with wheels and we aren't adding them.  We confirmed that they weren't needed.  We have hardwood floors, and I was concerned with the crib scooting over a period of time once the baby is able to move more in the crib.

  • Have you seen this one set up in the store? I edited my post b/c we were planning on getting the DaVinci brand, but seeing how cheap this one is, I wonder if I can just order it. I haven't seen any JL cribs assembled anywhere here.

eta: nm. Out of stock online and not available at my local store. :(

I found it on amazon for $150!

  • Moving it to vacuum or get stuff from behind it are the only benefits I can see. I think that once LO gets bigger and can start shaking the crib, it will probably move across the room. That actually happened with a little boy I babysat for.
