NBR: Talk me down......

Seriously, I don't know how people do not eat sweets. I am trying to so hard, but I am craving it so much. I try to just have a little to curb the craving, but it just makes me want more.

How do you stay away? What do you say to yourself when you are presented with the challenge?

I have been tracking what I eat on a daily basis. Writing it down makes me feel accountable for it.

That said, one piece of chocolate is not going to kill anyone. Neither will 2 :)

I starting tracking my food again today. And I already ate a bite size peppermit patty. But, now I want more. Crying

  • I am no help...I can't seem to stop myself either. If it's not in the house then I'm fine...but if I know it's somewhere I can get to then I usually end up eating it. No willpower whatsoever on my end. I simply never buy sweets unless I am super craving them while at the store.
  • I don't have much willpower when there are sweets in the house, so I try to make sure we don't have any! Unfortunately when my DH goes to the grocery, he always buys ice cream and it's currently calling my name from the freezer. Tongue Tied

  • I buy the weight watchers stuff (candies, snack bars) and ice cream cups and skinny cow ice cream sandwiches.  They're actually really good.  If I deprive myself, I will cheat.

And I agree with PP... a piece of chocolate never killed anyone.  It's all about moderation, IMO.

  • I agree, Skinny Cow has awesome ice-cream and nigella is sweet but still goof for you- right?! Better than most sweets leastways. Agreed, it's all about moderation.

  • I am addicted to Skinny Cow stuff! One of our grocery stores used to sell No Pudge stuff... But they don't anymore. It makes me sad. Those were the best darn brownies ever!

Lately, I've been getting the Granola Thins with dark chocolate or their Sweet n Salty granola bars with chocolate chunks. It's usually enough to hold me off.

  • For me, the more I hold back, the more I crave it. I give in but I try to make sure I don't scarf down, say a whole bar. Fruity snacks also satisfies it for me. How about baking some brownies with half the amount of sugar? I do this sometimes and then throw in a couple of packets of Truvia to up the sugar taste.
