Weirdest Cravings

With DS I didn't crave anything.  With this one, I've managed to polish off 3 jars of dill pickles since Christmas.  I just stand in front of the fridge and eat right from the jar.  Heck sometimes I don't even take the jar off the shelf on the door.  And all things vinegar.  Anything from salt & vinegar chips (only the Utz's), to salad dressings, to drinking it straight out of the bottle.

Your turn.  What was your weirdest craving?

  • I can't get enough Indian food when I'm pregnant.

    Ick! gag!

I couldn't get enough Mexican food when I was pregnant.  If it had beans, rice and cheese, it had to be in my belly.

  • LOL, that's HILARIOUS because my best friend is currently pregnant and did the same thing as Jitterbug - she polished off a huge jar of pickles and DRANK THE JUICE! Ugh!

I didn't crave anything, just had a huge aversion to coffee and chocolate, which is very, very, VERY unlike me.

  • mmm pickle brine, love it (pregnant or not!!)

I ate 2 whole watermelons a week when pregnant with DD (there are advantages to being pregnant all summer!). I craved it with DS as well, and peaches, mmmmm

Salty foods were big with both pregnancies, esp in the 1st trimester

    I

    me too!

With both kids I craved chery coke, specifically from the can or fountain, not a plastic bottle.  I am usually a big dessert person but rarely drink soda, however I did not crave any kid of chocolate or such when pregnant, I just wanted a cherry coke.

  • My cravings come in trimesters (and have been consistent both times):

First - Cheez-Its and ginger ale

Second - Citrusy drinks (fresh squeezed orange juice, grapefruit juice)

Third - Milk, preferably with cookies

  • Individual vegetables made me gag, but I craved salad like no other.  I would eat my lunch and then hit up the salad bar in the mid afternoon.  Trips to the grocery store were like winning a lottery since they had salad bars....  Also chips, really anything salty, but Wise potato chips, yum....
  • Especially in my 1st tri I craved hearty, salty foods, and anything with carbs.  I was the crazy woman eating huge portions of beef stew and chili in the middle of August.  I'd literally eat twice as much as DH Embarrassed

  • With DD#1:  McDonald's chicken nuggets and Taco Bell crunchy tacos and the seven layer burrito...

With DD#2: Chocolate.  I eat a lot of chocolate anyway, but it was ridiculous with her...

  • In my 1st tri I was all about the Mexican food. Specifically, Chipolte Chicken Burrito Bowls.  Nothing really stands out from my 2nd tri, but in my 3rd tri, it was ice cream.

  • At first, it was hummus. I couldn't get enough of it.

Later, it was the Flavor Explosion Goldfish and Chipotle Burritos with extra sour cream. I would dream about the sour cream taste.

  • Some that stick out in my mind: apple and orange juice (fresh), watermelon, brownies (when I was in the middle of horrible m/s all I wanted was the chocolatey-ist, gooey-ist brownie...doesn't seem to mesh with m/s lol), pizza, and tuna salad (which I kept to a minimum).  Chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate was the story of 3rd tri.  Oh, and really spicy foods (not typical for me).
