Hey everyone! This is my first pregnancy and I couldn't be happier! Of course the joy comes with worry as well. I have PCOS and had been TTC for almost a year. I am 5 weeks and 5 days pregnant and had a question about my progesterone. I have had 4 beta levels drawn the first set was 109 and then 210 (48 hours later) and my progesterone was 22, this was almost 2 weeks ago when i was 4 weeks along. My second set of Beta levels were 2896 (if they had doubled every 48 hours since my last level they should have only been 1200) so i was thrilled with this high number and 48 hours after that, they were 7596 again a great high level, over doubling! However, last week they drew my progesterone on both days by my request and it had gone from my 4 week level of 22, to 15.4 and then 14.2. I talked to the nurse about this concern of dropping progesterone and she said that they were not worried and that as long as my hcg levels were raising like they have been, that it was a viable pregnancy. I am still concerned, especially having PCOS and i feel like i might need to be on progesterone supplements. I also wonder if they have dropped again, so I am calling the doctor in the morning to request more lab work. I don't mean to be over bearing but I know that progesterone is what keeps your baby going until the placenta takes over at around 12 weeks. I don't think it could hurt to ask to get it checked out again. Does anybody have any thoughts, advice or experience on this matter? Thank you so very much!

Re: Dropping progesterone Levels
Congrats on the baby!
I had low progesterone, 3.1 when I was about 4 weeks. They put me on supps right away, and said that they want to see it between 10 and 15, so 14.2 seems okay, however, I am not sure about the dropping progesterone, and what that means exactly for you or baby.
Fingers crossed everything is okay, and keep us updated!
Progesterone levels can fluctuate greatly during the first trimester based on a variety of factors. I reference this website a lot regarding P4 levels in pregnancy. They are looking more for your levels to stay within a set range. HTH!

Just wondering what cream you used?
And Mrs T0522 did the progesterone suppositories work for you?
You may want to check with your BMB they might be able to help. Good luck!
