do you get daily documentation from daycare?

DD's daycare teacher (in home daycare) was providing a daily log of her diapers and what she ate that day and her naps.  She stopped it around 13 months. I asked if she could continue to do it as it was helpful information to me. She's since provided it and been nice about it.

I think I'm the only parent who she does this for. What does your daycare provide in terms of daily documentation?I love the information but don't want to give her more work than what is expected.

DD's school emails Daily Sheets for all ages between 6 wks and 3 years, then Weekly Sheets for all the 3+ classes (except After School). 

They do daily sheets before 3 so that parents can see diaper changes and potty training progress as well as the food intake for the day, and because the kiddos aren't able to articulate much (if anything) about their day. After 3, you don't really need to know how toileting is going with a play by play report, and the kids can communicate a little better.

 That being said, I glance at it QUICKLY, then delete it from my email. (They email it to you every evening to save paper) I think if you have an in home person that can communicate with you about their day, that's probably sufficient. Simply my opinion.

 

For what it's worth, my son was at an in-home daycare & she didn't give me slips of paper & I didn't miss it

We did this for the first 14 or so months and then let it go.  Now as we are trying to sort out an allergy issue, we have asked to restart it but it is focused on food and then output not so much naps/etc.

Our center does daily sheets until they get to the 2 year old room, then they're by request only.

Yes, DS's school provides a daily log.  It's there to view daily but I pick up the log at the end of the week.  It shows how he ate, slept, diaper changes/potty training progress, and usually a little note about what they did that day.  If there is anything to be concerned about, DS's teacher provides a separate note/email or call the day of...depending on the level of concern.

DS is at an in home daycare. We dont get any documentation but we get a verbal rundwn of the day when we pick him up. She is great about raisin concerns o me and caught his thrush before I noticed it. I dont need any more paper in my life.

Both kids have been in at home daycare. DD's teacher would email daily info like menu and what they were doing for the day. Wasn't child specific. DS's teacher doesn't do it but I can text/call her if needed or talk to her when I pick him up. I don't mind not receiving an email or sheet.

We still get daily reports for DD (and obviously do with DS as well). They aren't as explicit about what she's eaten...it's more like they just put down what they served, rather than letting me know how much of it she ate. But I like to see her diaper/potty progress, and the length of her nap.

The center I work at gives daily sheets to each parent, our center goes to age 3.  The infant room sheet is much more detailed.

Yes, we get daily documentation for both girls. And the documentation changes depending on the age and the class they are in.  The infants detail bottles, diapers, naps, etc. Basic baby things. But also includes activities, outside time, etc.  

Toddlers list food they ate, how much, nap(s), outside time and activities. Each activity is listed under a section for one of the following: Gross Motor, Fine Motor, Language, Social, Cognitive. This is true through age 2 but also includes if they tried to potty on the form.   

For age 3, still has the potty info but also changes to include main activities and kiddos mood for the day. Age 4 removes diaper changes and no longer lists potty activities.  Also is more focused on specific notes made by teachers for what they did during the day.  Same for age 5. 

All forms have notes from the teacher where they can write specific notes about the day or things they may need.  

I read the forms each day when picking up the girls and ask the teachers any questions I have about what's listed. It tells me what they did and gives me a peek into the day. I love getting the forms.
