So far today I have put together a bag of hand me downs for a preschool friend's new baby sister, cleaned out all 3 utensil drawers in the kitchen and cleared off the kid bookshelves of all of the books that they have no interest in. All of it will be out of the house no later than tomorrow thanks to Purple Heart Vets who pick up. Yay!

Re: Decluttering!
lol!
I always find that after the Christmas visit to my ILs I have this insane need to declutter and organize. My MIL isn't hoarder status (yet), but good god, the amount of crap she holds onto is insane. I think the only reason she isn't to hoarder status yet is because their house is 5000 + sq ft, plus a basement that has a huge unfinished portion that is all storage.
I am pretty proud of the fact that we got home at midnight on Friday and all of the new Christmas toys have been put away and the entire playroom is completely organized. That's basically all we've done for the past 2 days.
Ooh, eclaires, I am jealous. I have yet to get all of the toys put away. I am awaiting delivery of some new bins for the playroom. I have the ones from IKEA, but discovered that I hate them. The lids just sit on top and don't clip closed, so every time they pull out a bin the contents dump almost immediately. So back to IKEA they go and I'll get the Sterilite ones from Wallymart instead.

I use these - the clear ones with the handles that clip up over the lid. LOVE them.
I had it all organized, but then DH started building our built-ins in the playroom yesterday, so it is back to disorganized mess. hopefully they will be built/sanded today, and I can work on painting them tomorrow or Wednesday, then I'll be in reorganization heaven while the kids visit my parents Wed-Sun.
Those are the ones I have downstairs. I don't know why I didn't get them for the upstairs shelves... probably because I was already at IKEA and they were right there.

I love the sterilite brand ones with the clip lid and handle. We have a ton of those.
Part of Jackson's Christmas present was a Lego table that was hacked from Ikea Trofast storage so that helped our organization efforts a bit.
This is our first piece of Ikea furniture or storage and I actually really, really like it. Too bad Ikea is so far away for us!
We just went Friday for the first time.
I like it, but my H is not impressed....and neither of us really care for the laminate-type finish on most of the pieces. We did find a daybed, thought, that we might consider for the girls' room when we do that massive project. I'm eager to go back to really 'look' without H!
I don't buy a lot of furniture at IKEA... just the Expedit bookcases and DS dressers and nightstand.
Our closest one is 2 hours away, so it's an all day expedition if we do want to go.

My SIL and her husband buy a lot there and I've never been super impressed (couches/beds/etc), but they have the expedit stuff and that I like a lot.
We've been a few times in the past year or two, and we've only bought cheap decor items mostly. Well, we did buy a desk chair for Jackson's room and a cheapy highchair for Scarlett. I think I like it for the possibilities. Like buying a cheap dresser and painting it a bright color. And you really can't beat their prices for frames! It's 3.5 hours away from us for the two closest locations (Cincy and ATL).
I think I like the Trofast so much because it was SO easy to hack into the Lego table and was perfect for our needs (size, use, etc.). Usually projects like that end up taking my husband for-freaking-ever because he obsesses over it. He only made the topper and that was pretty straight forward b/c it had to fit over two of the shelves pushed together, lol.
