registering at Buy Buy Baby & ????

We created a registry at BBB, but want to register somewhere else that is easier for people to get to.

We've heard bad things about Target baby registry. Where else should we register? Walmart? Meijer? We're looking for a place that will have some basic baby items.

With DD, I registered at Target and BBB (BBB was the only place that I could register for the Ergo) and it worked out great!  I didn't have any issues with Target...I think the only issue is the gift receipts- you have to have them to get cash for the return...but I returned something to them without one and they gave me store credit.

i think target is okay, i have read lots of mixed reviews, but they are working hard to create a better image, but i do know gift receipts are a must. i have heard great things about amazon registry.

Is there a Babies R Us near you? That's where I registered.  Question, though, for people who registered at two places.  Did you register for the exact same items at both  places or split them up between the two?

I will not register for the same things twice (at different stores).

I did not register for the same things at different stores.  I registered for most things at Target and the things they didn't have at BBB.

I had very bad luck with my Target registry and wouldn't recommend it. It was no problem for our wedding a few years ago, but they've changed their website and registry system and can't seem to work major glitches out of it.  My shower was 6-8 weeks ago, and people couldn't search for me or DH by name- only by email address.  (Didn't find this out til about a week before the shower when a friend called and asked how to find my registry).  When we went in person to the store to ask about it, they couldn't help us. Even the people the store manager called at Target headquarters or wherever couldn't help.

At the time they were having so many problems they told us that even when people did locate the registry and buy stuff, it wouldn't work for people to scan the list at the register to have an item removed.  They were right- I got a bunch of duplicate stuff.  Mostly, though, I got a zillion clothes, and I blame this on the fact that I'm sure almost no one could locate my registry. Another friend who lives out of state ordered items to be sent, only to have the website crash and spend 30 minutes on the phone trying to sort it out. It was all really frustrating.
