Scheduled for a section in 11 days, but today started with my usual back pain although it feels worse, in addition to really bad upper right quadrant abdominal pain.
I had HELLP syndrome with my first and know this can be a sign, so it would be stupid of me to not call my dr, and I will...but I'm waiting for my 6 yr old to get home and in the meantime want to give this pain some time to see if it will subside, remain the same or worsen, as I know these are questions that will be asked of me. Thinking of running over to Walgreens to use their BP monitor to see if it's gone up significantly (my drs have me monitoring it daily bc I can since I work for a physician, but I can't on weekends at home. This pain has me wondering if I've possibly spiked). My swelling has increased significantly over this weekend too...whatever I have is beyond cankles. Today's not the day...I'm tired and just want to take a nap on what is likely the last day I'll have a chance to since I'm scheduled in 11 days (my daughter was at a sleepover this weekend, but will be home next, so no sleep then!) and my husband's team is vying for the playoffs today! Lol.
Really just posting to see if anyone else has had this pain withOUT having pre-e or HELLP. Anyone???

I feel like nowadays the doctors are always all ready to jump on the gallbladder thing. I have to go in tomorrow to get mine looked at cause my OB is convinced that's my problem but I honestly don't think it is at all.
It's probably just in the region because all our organs are pushed up so high!
None of the above aside from the increased swelling (mostly in the LE with minimal in the hands/face) and RUQ pain. The pain lasted about an hour then went away. I feel like it's kicking in a bit again now, but with HELLP it just stays (at least as per my past experience -- I didn't have it come/go at all). Going for that nap now and seeing how I feel when I wake. Thx!
I am 37 weeks have have had this pain for about 5 weeks and it has progressively gotten worse over that time. When I first mentioned it to my OB, we just chalked it up to back pain/rib/nerves and typical for pregnancy. The next appointment it had gotten worse, but she still said it was normal. She offered muscle relaxers but I didn't think that was necessary considering I still need to work and drive.
After that appointment, I went to a chiropractor because the pain is unbearable in my back and wraps around to my front. That didn't help.
Now, I am just dealing with it and the back pain isn't as bad as the front pain. (maybe baby dropped a bit?)....but my right upper quadrant is almost always numb and I get stabbing pains that bring me to tears. OB says it's all normal.
Unfortunately I think the pain is eerily familiar to what I felt when the HELLP syndrome kicked into full effect when I had my first. It's completely unrelated to eating/meals. It has been coming/going whereas with my first it hit and it hit hard, so I went right to the hospital as per my dr's advice and was delivered that day.
I just checked my BP, which rose from a consistent 100/60 range to 120/90. The systolic is fine, but I know I have been told that once the diastolic hits 90 they want to hear from me. Not that the BP is "high" per se, but more that it's high for me I think.
Looks like a call to the dr is in order (at least I made it to "full term" with both pregnancies and even still with this one, they may continue to monitor until/closer to my scheduled delivery). Thanks for your input, ladies.
