getting uncomfortable

im only 24 weeks and im getting pretty uncomfortable.  what the heck is it going to be like at 30 weeks?  35 weeks?  with my singleton pregnancy 24 weeks was nothing, i just cant believe the difference already - it's kinda scary.  i feel like im just lugging around this huge growth in my belly (which i guess i am!)

when im active and doing stuff, like yoga, shopping, cooking, etc, i feel okay.  it's when im laying on the couch when i notice that i just cant get comfortable.  or in bed when im doing obnoxious things with the covers to get comfortable (but sleeping for the most part has been okay so far) and after dinner at night.  i already eat less bc of the lack of room and i still just feel like an inflated balloon at night.

sorry, just a vent.

Re: getting uncomfortable

  • At 30 weeks, nothing is comfortable (IMO). Walking, laying, sitting, etc.- it kind of all sucks. Hang in there... when I get extra miserable I try to make a short term goal and keep my eye on that. It's going to be worth it!
  • The worst for me is actually getting up - out of bed, off the couch, up from a chair. And I just walked up the stairs to our condo and when I got up the last step I thought "wow, that's getting hard!". At my u/s on Friday the girls were 4 pounds 13 ounces and 4 pounds 14 ounces, so I've got almost 10 pounds of baby in me and still another 2.5 weeks to go! I'm convinced that by the last week my husband will come home from work and I'll be like a beached whale stuck on the couch or in bed.

  • yes!  getting up is a b*tch!  if i arrange myself, with my book, remote, water, etc, i tell my husband im not getting up for anything!  i have a strategy where i swing my legs to the side - the momentum helps me get up.
  • Seriously I thought,"ehh this will be a piece of cake...I chased 3 around all the time.." Nope I was lying to myself...lol! I'm pretty good if I keep occupied but if I sit or lay down I'm totally hosed! I know it will be better soon enough and the babies were 3lbs 15oz and 3lbs 14oz at last check..but seriously I think I might need a walker some days. I have gotten to the point where I take a warm shower before bed to relax and then I have to take tylenol before I go to sleep to help lessen the pain in my back and hips.  But we're almost to the finish line!! :) Hang in there you've got a lot of company! :)
