Hello ladies,
I have been reading for months and following all of your stories and lives and I recently read the FFFC post. I feel the need to share with you all my thoughts on why I lurk and why you are better than me.
I lurk because I have questions as a first time mom, but I am too embarrassed to ask them, so I secretly wait and hope someone else will ask for me. I lurk because I want to know what is happening with my son is normal and what I can expect in the future. I lurk because I need a laugh, a smile, or confirmation of a shared insecurity, but I am too nervous to post myself. I lurk because I am bored and you ladies provide entertainment. But, the biggest reason I lurk is because I am too insecure to post on a regular basis and I, quite honestly, don't think that my life is interesting enough to warrant wasting your time with my stories.
You ladies have provided me with smiles, out-loud laughter, tears, comfort, and, in some ways, confidence. I don't judge your hair, but I admire your bravery and your ability to step out of your worlds and embrace each other, most of the time without knowing each other IRL. I love the ways that you call out each other's sh!t and how supportive you are when anyone needs it.
Just like you, I lurk on other boards as well: 9-12; 6-9; and a couple of others, and even though I have a 9 month old, I still follow you ladies and the 9-12 ladies as you were the "veterans" I followed throughout my pregnancy.
I hope this post isn't too weird and I am sorry that it has gotten so long. I just wanted to let you know that not all lurkers are judging you ...
Re: Confessions of a lurker
