walker or other activity station?

I know that many of you use a Jumperoo with little one.  Do you use anything else? I limit his time in the Jumperoo to 20-30 minutes at a time and only once or twice a day.  I want to get him something else, but am not sure what to get. TIA!

Re: walker or other activity station?

  • I put him on the floor a lot, and let him explore/roll around. He loves it. Often, he'll be fussy, but if I put him down, he's happy as a clam. If I need him contained, I'll put him in his high chair with toys, in his exersaucer, or in his bouncy/rocker seat (I have one by fisher price that is "infant to toddler")

  • We also have an exersaucer (Baby Einstein Around the World) and we put her in her highchair with toys as well.

  • I know a lot of doctors are saying no to walkers for safety reasons (I'm not sure why) but we bought DS one for Christmas and he absolutely loves it! He can only go backwards at this point, but he gets a kick out of it and enjoys playing with the toys attached to it. We got him the cars one from Walmart and it was decently priced and its actually really cool! He also has a jumparoo and a johnny jump up but I love the fact that I can just roll his walker into whatever room I am going to be in, it's so convenient! He has no interest in the activity station we have (fisher price), im sure he will when he is older but right now it is useless.

  • C got both a Fisher Price activity table and a Chicco walker for Christmas. Although he uses the walker, he LOVES the activity table. He hangs out there forever.

  • DD loves to be in the jumper with Yo Gabba Gabba on, I know TV isn't great for them, but she totally loves it.  I usually do that once or twice a day to get some stuff done.  We have a walker but haven't put it together yet.
  • We spend most time on the floor playing but we have a jumperoo, walker and high chair and rotate using these. We watch her very carefully in the walker - it's basically like a moving excersaucer.

  • DD is just about too big for the jumperoo so we don't use it much anymore. She LOVES this though! She enjoys if I help her stand up to play with it or the legs come off and she plays with it while sitting. Other than that, she plays a lot on the floor with stacking toys, blocks, my pal Violet, etc.

  • she got a walker for Christmas but just chills in it and plays. I don't think she knows she can move it yet,
  • we have the activity station, but she definitely prefers to hang out on the floor- unfortunately, only with one of us playing with her.

I bought that activity table for Stella for Christmas and she likes it well enough (haven't yet attached the legs) she really likes this (Mom got it for her for Christmas).

  • We have the jumperoo, exersaucer, and now 3 activity tables of different varieties. We have another family Christmas today, so I'm hoping she gets something a little different or else we will be returning.... A lot of times though, I just put her on the floor with a blanket and toys.

  • I believe the biggest safety issue with walkers is the potential of falling down stairs with them. As long as you're smart with it, I don't see a problem with them. We don't have one, just don't have the room.

We have a jumperoo and DS loves it. He usually goes in there a couple of times a day for 15-30 mins. DS still enjoys his playmat although now he rolls all over and off of it. We got him one of those large rubber play mats for Christmas so I'm looking forward to setting it up so he has a large spot to play. Unfortuntatly, LO can't sit up on his own yet, but I'm looking forward to that so he can sit an play with all the toys he got for Christmas.

  • Emma got a walker and an activity station for Christmas and loves both. She can move the walker when she's not on carpet and gets so excited. This is the activity station she was given:  https://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Baby-Cruise-Around-Activity-Lion/dp/B00386UK4E/ref=pd_sbs_t_22. She also still spends time in her jumperoo, in the high chair or on the floor.
