DD has always been a fantastic sleeper - has been STTN since she was 2 months old with few exceptions. She typically falls asleep while nursing and I just carefully place her in her crib and she's good for the night. However, for the past week or so she goes down fine, but then 5-10 minutes later she starts SCREAMING and we have to pick her up and rock her back to sleep. This may happen 3 or 4 times, sometimes after 5 min, sometimes more like 30 min. Eventually she goes back down and still STTN, but its just that intitial going down that is the problem.
Not sure why this is happening all of a sudden - nightmares? scared of the dark when she wakes up? teething (she already has 2 teeth)? Any advice would be great!!

Re: Trouble going to sleep at night
My daughter did this tonight. I put her down, started screaming-I picked her up and she fell asleep on my shoulder again. Put her down. Started screaming. Picked her up and fell asleep instantly.
She has has been STTN for the most part since about 2-3 months, except for a pacifier retrieval (not anymore though)
I ended up doing a slightly modified CIO--mostly because she has never actually needed it. I let her cry for 3 minutes, then I went in, turn the music back on, picked her up, hugged her and put her back. I then let her cry/fuss for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes I went in, found the pacifier for her, and rubbed her back and she fell asleep. But that is so atypical of her. Usually she is asleep within 5-10 minutes of her bottle.
