Kind of an XP - Flying with your toddler

I have a wedding I'd like to go to when I'll be 23wks pregnant, but DH can't come. I can't manage the 8hr drive by myself. It's only a 1hr flight, but I'm not sure I could handle LO as a lap child.

I don't mind buying an additional seat for DD, but Southwest seats are only 16in wide and my car seat is 20+ in wide. 

Do you have a car seat that you can use on a plane? Mine is approved for flying, but just too wide.

    Buy the seat, check the car seat and either use a CARES harness or let her sit in the seat.

    As someone about to do the return flight of an 11hr trip tomorrow, I also say skip the cars eat as its so bulky to bring to the airport and let DC sit on the plane seat.

    Ha, we are doing the return portion of a 9 hour flight on Monday (UK to US) and wish our 8 month old had her own seat!

    I would skip buying her a seat for a one hour flight. It will be over before you know it.

    Gate check the car seat, use a cares harnass. FYI, I remember seeing a site where you can rent them.
