I know everyone can be different during delivery, I was just curious about how long from when they started pitocin to when your LO was born did it take for all you FTM's!
They started Pitocin at 8 am, broke my water at 10 am, I started pushing at 5:30 pm, and he was born at 7:30 pm. When they started Pitocin they were saying I would have him around noon, but I had scar tissue on my cervix from a leep procedure I had done a few years ago so it stopped dilating at 5cm and they had to go in and stretch the scar tissue away.
I'm a FTM I was 40 wks 2 days when they induced me on Oct. 18th. I went in at midnight, I was given the tablet on my cervix to soften them (before being admitted I was 75% effaced and 1 ct dilated). By 4 am my contractions were very irregular so they started the pit drip. What my OB did not tell me is that it can take more than a day for the Pit to work. I was in labor for 2 days with contractions 3 mins apart before they decided to deliver by C-sec at 4pm on the 20th. My LO was not in distress I just did not progress enough for them to break my water. Make sure you ask your OB how long they will let you sit on the pit before they make a decision. Remember Labor and Delivery does not have. Ice accommodations for you and your. Lacy for that many days, additionally you can't eat when you're on the Pit drip. I wish I had known that before hand. I was so nervouse before going to the hospital I didn't eat well and was regretting it my noon the next day. It's not a quick process. My LO is 10 wks now and I'm so happy. Good luck, God Bless and Happy New year!!
Pit was started at 6:30 am. Water was broke at either 7 or 7:30 am. LO was born at 11:19 pm after an hour of pushing. Also, I was half a centimeter when I went in for my induction.
anyway I was started on pitocin around midnight, I was already 100% effaced and 1cm dilated before starting it, contractions started in the early morning hours. Water broke in the early morning hours. Had DS at 9:27pm. So almost full 24 hours for me.
3pm on Monday started with round 1 cytotec- ended up having 3 doses, all which did nothing. Tuesday morning they broke my water, nothing. They inserted a foley bulb for a few hours- nothing. Finally got an amazing nurse on Tuesday night that I owe the world to. I went from 1 cm to 10 in about 5 hours due to constant changing of positions and upping my pitocin. DD was born Wednesday at 530am. It was LONG but I had a vaginal birth in the end- it can happen!
I was induced at 41w1d with my first. I was dliated to 3cm when we started. It was 14 hours from start to delivery. I pushed for 3.5 hours because DD was facing my hip bone instead of face down and it took a lot of manipulation to get her to turn.
I had 1 dose of cytotec and then almost 30 hours of pitocin. My water was broken (spontaneously) for over 24 hours and thank goodness I never spiked a fever. LO was born after 1 hour of pushing.
edit: i was induced pretty much from scratch at 41 weeks. fingertip dilated and 0% effaced.

Started pitocin at 8am- it did absolutely nothing for me. OB broke my water at 12:45pm, which finally put me into labor, and I had her at 7:38pm. I was 39w4d and 5cm when I went in.

My water broke on my own at 6:45am. Luckily I was already in the hospital being monitored for high BP. I was given pitocin when contractions didn't start maybe an hour later or so. So maybe 8:00am. I didn't start pushing until 6:45pm and LO wasn't born until 9:43pm....3 hours of pushing!!! TERRIBLE!!!!
The pit and water breaking times are a little fuzzy. I think pit was started around 6am and water was broken around 8am
10:30am epidural
Not sure what time I started pushing but I think it took about an hour. I pushed about 5 times and the baby wasn't coming with the pushing so the dr had me take a 15 min break to let the contractions do their thing. When we started again the baby was a lot further down and ready to go. His head was big and got stuck so it took several more pushes to get his head out but once the head was out the rest of him flew out.
DS was born at 5:33pm
So all together I was in labor for 18 1/2 hours but only about 10 hours after starting pit.
Pitocin was started at 5am and I had her at 3:50pm (started pushing around 3:30). I didn't progress very quickly in the morning though- at 1pm, I was still only about 4cm dilated. However, the nurses had me get on all fours (even with an epidural) and rock back and forth for about 30 minutes and that started progress. I went from 6cm to full dilated in about 1 hour.

To my angels- I held you every second of your lives and I'll love you every second of mine.
Pitocin started at 8 am, water was broken by my OB around 10 am. DD2 was born at 5:27 pm. DD2 didn't wait for my OB to come back and after 2 pushes my nurse and DH had to deliver her. I was about 2 cm and 50% effaced when we checked in to the hospital.
With DD1 it was all natural my water broke on its own and DD1 was born at 5:47 am after 5 hours of labor and 45 minutes of pushing and my Midwife barely got there in time then too. So I guess I go faster then they expect once my body decides to do it.
I do think that it would have been quicker with DD2 if I could have moved around freely like I did with DD1, but the IV and tubes and all didn't really let me.

They started my Pitocin at 8am, broke my water at 11:30am, started pushing at 6:25pm, baby born at 6:55pm. So just under 11 hours! It had heard horror stories of induction but I had an awesome experience
5 am - Pitocin ( I was only 1cm dilated at this time ) 1:30 pm - Water Broke (4 cm - but things went much faster from here)4 pm - Started pushing 5:29 pm - DS was born 12.5 hrs for me :-)
started pit at 7am on Tuesday; Kate was born at 7:32 via c-section Thursday morning.
"Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies. God damn it, you've got to be kind."
- Kurt Vonnegut
I got pitocin and the folley balloons inserted. They were given to me both before 10 pm on a thursday night, the balloons were taken out before noon the next day and my water was broken for me. ( i had a dangerous pregnancy disease and we had to get the baby out asap and wanted to try for vaginal) and little one was born and on my tummy by 720 friday night. So not even 24 hours?

I opted to be induced at 39 weeks. I was 2-3 cm, no effacement and no contractions on the monitor when I went in.
2:00 am- first dose of Cytotec on cervix
5:00 am- second dose of Cytotec
7:00 am- no real changes when checked
7:30 am- Got epi
8:00 am- Dr. broke my water

Stripped my membranes twice and nothing happened so at 41 weeks they gave me the miso tablet Saturday evening, then gave me my pitocin and broke my water in the morning on Sunday (around 6am). Went 2 to 5cm in under 10min. Then 5 to 9cm in under 2 hours. Stalled at 9cm for 7 hours. Finally hit 10cm and pushed 6 times and baby didn't budge and heart rate was dropping. Baby was born by c-section Sunday evening (around 11:30pm) with her cord around her neck.
My friend went in a few months before me and it was about the same. Started induction the night before, pitocin and breaking her water around 9am the next morning. Baby was born around 4:30pm that afternoon after about 30min of pushing.
