I don't know if you read my original post about possible bed rest in my future...had an ultrasound this afternoon to check cervical length and the tech sent me right to L&D. When I had my anatomy scan at the beginning of december it was nice and long at a 4, now it's a whopping 1.6. I have to stay in the hospital for 48hours at which point I'll get another u/s to see if my cervix has changed. They'll then determine if I need to stay here, go home on strict bed rest, or be transferred to a hospital 45min away that has a NICU. I'm getting medication for contractions and will be getting the steroid shots for baby's lungs. My FFN test came back neg. which is a great sign; that means I probably won't deliver for at least a couple more weeks. They think I will deliver early but praying I make it till at least 30 weeks. Had the terrible conversation with my doctor about all the what-ifs if I were to deliver soon. Thankfully they are sounding more hopeful though especially with the FFN being negative.
I almost didn't call my doctor this week because I thought I was overreacting. So glad I did. Any T&P would be really appreciated. Bed rest is so much harder when you already have a LO. I've only spent 2 nights away from my DD her whole life so I'm having a hard time knowing that I could be here for a while. Thankfully my in-laws will bring her up first thing in the am to spend some time with me.
Re: T&P needed :(
Keeping you in my thoughts, I hope your baby stays put for a long time.
Stay put LO! Mama needs you in there for a few more weeks!
I hope things go well for you and LO!
A15 January Siggy Challenge-
Dear fitmama's LO,
I know, I know, the world is an exciting place, and you can't wait to get here, but really, January? February (or March, or even better April) are much better months to be born. True, being born earlier in the year increases your odds of being on a professional sports team, but spring is a much nicer time for a birthday.
So, do us all (your mom especially) a favour and hang out in there a while longer, k? Really, it's warm in there and cold our here, at least let the temperature equalize a bit more first.
Much love,
Your April 2012 Aunties
5 cats. 1 baby.
Well put!
Love this! Thanks for the smile.
Thank you. Thoughts and prayers to you and your little girl as well. Hopefully you won't deliver until 35 weeks. GL!
