Child Support Paper work Timeline...

Ok so a few days ago I got the...'Jurisdiction Questionaire' Paperwork in the mail and filled it out today and going down to the office today to turn it in.... What happens after this? How long is this all going to take? Ex-SO lives in AZ and Im in OR so....idk if that extends the time frame or what? (helpful advice/comments only plz) Thanks!!!

  • Every location is different. What is the questionaire for? Application of services takes a LONG time. It was 15 months last time.

    it was asking like....where was DD concieved, Did she ever live with Ex-SO , was anyone paying anyone? If so how much.... Stuff like that...

    OK, so you're just now filing. Depending on case load, at least a year. Child Support is retroactive from birth. Once you have an order for support, expect at least 6w before checks start coming in. And, depending on how you state handles it, if he changes jobs, it can be YEARS before they catch up with him.

    My ex would leave everytime Texas found him. When it was time for our 5 year review, he hadn't paid in 4 years. Eventually, the state started using a web reporting system, and no matter where he goes, they know within 1 week that he started a new job. It then takes about 30 days for the payroll deduction to go through.
