I accidentally shrunk one of DH's wool sweaters. oops. I was thinking that I could make some dryer balls out of it. Can anyone give me step by step directions on how to make them?
Also, it's ok that the sweater is green, right? The color won't bleed??
Thanks!
Re: Wool dryer balls
I've only made them out of yarn, but I would cut the sweater into strips maybe, roll them into 4" balls, put them in pantyhoes and tie knots between each ball. Wash on hot and dry on hot a few times and them cut them out of the pantyhoes. They sould have felted up enoufh to stay together. If not, Go and buy some wool yarn and wrap the yarn around the outside enough to make a layer or 2, back into the panyhoes, wash and dry on hot a few times and that should work.
I wouldn't worry about the color bleeding.
No clue how to make them but my balls are blue and I've had no color bleeding.
And truthfully I just wanted to say something about my blue balls.
hahah...love it!
