We're team....Registery Question

Well, it looks like my husband was right all along.  LOTS of blue, toy cars, and sports in our future because we'll be having a set of little mono/di boys!!  We are SO excited to be having little boys and they both seem to be healthy and right on track.

Now, for the planning......We'll be starting the registery process sooner than later.  I'm just wondering where everyone registered and the pros/cons for those places??  I'm all about coupons, so are there any places that email/mail coupons???  Reward programs??  Twin discounts??  Thanks!!

  • Woohoo! Welcome to Team Double-Blue. :)
I have some info on multiples freebies and discounts (though it's from a couple years ago so I'm sure some of it's out of date) plus a list of twin registry recs on my blog, www.rootbeertwins.blogspot.com.

  • Ditto pp, welcome to team Bluex2! We registered at BRU (they offer mailer and email coupons, twin discounts on all large items and they have a pampers diaper rewards program) as well as BBB (I believe they also have a twins discount, not as many coupons but they have some items that BRU doesn't carry). You'll likely hear that BBB is more expensive, and after doing a lot of looking, I don't believe it is - what I think it is is that they offer the higher end products of specific brands (which makes it more expensive by default). I've also read that BRU takes BBB coupons and vice versa. You'll hear a lot of negative things about Target's baby registry as far as return policies, and their website is full of reviews about damaged items. We chose not to register there for this reason, but we have purchased things through their website - they have the cheapest price for the DSNG stroller and often have sales on other items.

  • We found that for actual gifts, everyone wanted to shop at Target, and they all did it the day before the shower. Very few of our friends wanted to venture into a big baby store or buy things online. But at Target, things tend to be seasonal and disappear every three months. So it worked well for us to register at BRU to keep track of what we needed and take advantage of their completion discount, then load up a registry at Target with things that showed our taste or whatever was available there and return the duplicates that were inevitable when everyone was shopping the same day!

  • Oh and I should add, we registered at both Target and BRU (for the most part I would register for each item at whichever of those stores had it cheaper, and I think BRU gets a bad rap for being pricey; there were a number of items there that were cheaper there or that Target didn't carry). I also had a small Amazon registry for a few items like the Ergo and co-sleeper that the other stores didn't carry. BUT almost everyone shopped at Target. I'm still glad I registered at BRU though since like pp mentioned, it meant I had the registry completion discount and also some good coupons so I got good deals on our car seats, diaper bag, stroller and some other items.

You can also use coupons from Bed Bath and Beyond for BBB

  • One piece of advice is if you are planning on having more children I would not recommend picking any gear that is geared toward a gender. I stayed neutral with all my gear because I knew I wasn't done.

  • Thanks guys!!  Macchiatto great info...thanks for that link!!  I don't think that we'll be having more children, but I will certainly keep that in mind.  Very exciting times ahead.......
