I have successfully reached a goal that I thought I could only dream about. Today marks one year that I have been breastfeeding! I had to deal with supply issues, mastitis, going back to work and school, and unbelievable exhaustion but it was well worth it

I just took it one day at a time instead of saying only x amount of months left and I did it... I am so proud of myself and I just wanted to encourage all of you to keep up the great work and don't give up because you can do it too! Happy nursing!

Re: I did it!
Wow! Kudos! And thanks for the encouragement! Just a question, did you have a job where you were able to pump throughout the day? I hate the thought that I will almost have to go to formula when I return to work in two months.
ETA! Happy birthday, Jared!
By law your work HAS to supply a place for you to pump... and that does NOT mean a bathroom. They don't have to pay you, they can make you clock out, but they are required to provide time and a place for you. I work at a library when college is in session so I pumped in one of the closed study rooms (and they were nice enough to not make me clock out
)
Word of advice: Don't start the formula to supplement until you have to... Every time you give LO formula you are chancing screwing up your supply
Really you have to just take it one day at a time. If you look at it as in "oh gosh he's only 2months old... I have AT LEAST 10 months left!" You're going to get overwhelmed. DS doesn't act like he's wanting to wean anytime soon so I'm still taking it one day at a time. Make sure to pump when you are away... If you have a problem pumping bring a picture or onsie of DS... It really does work to think of them when you are pumping... HTH! and good luck!
