Re: BLW

  • We started with banana, avocado, pears. We started a little after 6 months and it is really only now, at almost 9 months, that she gets it. She is a huge gagger.

  • I do a little of BLW & purees - simply because I am a neurotic spaz.  But I have given my LO whole steamed green beans, sliced peaches, scrambled eggs, cheerios, & the Gerber wheels.

  • We started with a quartered baked sweet potato last week. We've done that, bananas cut in half with an inch of the peel cut off, avocado slices with the peel on, strips of chicken, spears of steamed broccoli, slices of pear, and strips of steak. The steak was by FAR her favorite! smart girl :)

  • She gets anything that we are eating that she can hold (I watch salt and sugar)...she shared the boxing day curry this year :)

  • Ok so I am going to try sweet potatoes in about two weeks... so you steam and than cool them right? Watching LO"s do you think its better than purees?

  • DS does a little of purees and a little BLW.
He goes through phases where he won't do one, so we do the other.

He eats pasta, steamed cut-up carrots, peas cut in half, cheerios, toast strips (w/puree on top), pancakes (w/puree in them), mashed potatoes, sweet potato fries. I usually just give him a little of what I'm eating.

I've done a few recipes from this website, just because we don't always eat the healthiest so I like to make him special things sometimes. It's a great website for information: https://www.babyledweaning.com/
  • She gets what we're having.  I don't think there's been anything she didn't like!  Favorites right now seem to be bananas and cheese quesadillas (not together).
